The people and other branches of the government kicked him out. Obama railed against them for doing that. For stopping a want to be dictator from taking control of the country. They want their freedom and Liberty.

I tell you that to tell you this; Earlier this month, Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y. introduced H. J. Res. 5, a bill that would repeal the Constitution’s 22nd Amendment prohibiting a president from being elected to more than two terms in office, thus potentially paving the way to make Barack Obama president for life. Not surprisingly, the corporate media — currently caught up in Obama mania — has not covered this story.

If they could do this, with no term limits in Congress, we are headed down a road to which we must take up arms. Obama already has said that he "wants to change the basic fundamentals of America". The basic fundamentals of America are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness!
Are you ready to take a stand against this yet?

H.J. Nasty little things, aren't they? We have some bugs, mostly flying bugs. I was talking to an old old friend of mine today and he has been invaded by earwigs. Oh how we hate earwigs. They aren't around Yuma that I've seen thank you very much. But we do have bug eaters. Like scorpions, that's right bark scorpions. Well, why do I write about this? My friend Mike who lives in Califfornia, found a website with the best bug killing stuff there is.
www.domyownpestcontrol.com is also the best prices I've seen. They sell the same stuff I use and for half the price. And shipping is free. Check it out. They can kill most anything.

California is Broken

This is from the L.A. The other States will have to help bail you out. I don't vote in California but they want my money to support their programs. Do you see how wrong that it? Taxation Without Representation! Sound like something you heard somewhere before? You can't go one funding all your bassakward programs and expect that life will go on unchanged. Time you get your house in order and leave our house to do the same for our house.

More taxes are just putting your children under a huge mortgage in the future. Cut all this wasteful programs and get control of the 5 billion dollars you spend on persons here illegally.
Many people are leaving California and they are wealthy. Do you know what Liberty really is? What it means when you live in the States, those united in the cause of Liberty? What is Liberty?
a. The condition of being free from restriction or control.
b. The right and power to act, believe, or express oneself in a manner of one's own choosing.
c.The condition of being physically and legally free from confinement, servitude, or forced labor.
d. Chris was one of my fire fighters in Julian. Haley has health problems with kidneys and related organs. This letter is what they went through just the other day. Thank God if you and your families have good health.

Hello, Haley had her procedure yesterday. here is what hap pend. We were admitted early in the morning. About 9:00 they gave her the versed. No IV needed thank God!!!! She was high as a kite for a while and really goofy. We were having so much fun with it. Her nurse was messing with her as were my mom and I. We took her to a procedure room to put in the catheter. As they inserted the catheter she started to cry. From that point on it all went down hill.

She started to get real physical and screaming a lot. It took 5 of us to hold her down in the x-ray room. She is a VERY strong little girl that's for sure. She was biting, screaming, hitting, punching, pulling hair, etc. After the procedure was over she wouldn't put her Pjs back on. So I suggested we wrap her in a sheet and just get back up stairs. It gets worse. I was holding her as they wheeled me in a wheel chair into the hall. She punched me in the eye and was scratching my neck so I said lets stop and put just her in the wheelchair because she was really hurting me. She then ran naked screaming bloody murder down the hall away from us. We gathered up all our stuff and chased after her. We barley got her Pjs back on her and we were just going to let her run. We thought the medicine had worn off, but it really hadn't. She was still having a hard time holding herself up and she just wasn't really there. A radiologist walking by grabbed her and we made a run for it up stairs.

For the next hour and a half we had her in the playroom away from all of the other kids and put her in a crib which has sides and a lid on it. She basically sat in there screaming until she came down off the medicine. They could have given her something to knock her out but that would have needed an IV and we wouldn't be able to hold her down to put one in. She finally started coming to her senses and negotiating with me. She said she wouldn't hit or scratch me if I would let her out. So I did and I held her for about 5 minutes. In an instant she was back to Haley. I offered her some cracker and juice and we went back to her room and she ate and fell asleep. We were released after about another hour and that was it.

During all of this we had to make some light of it so we were joking around amongst ourselves and laughing. We called her Emily Rose and were listing what we needed for the exorcism. She really seamed possessed. We also laughed about her running down the hall naked. We of course did not do any of this in front of her and it was really sad the reaction she was having. We were very comforting to her while it hap pend. i was talking to the on call Pediatrician and he asked me if she has ever acted like that before. I said no and then it clicked. Last year they gave her versed a couple of times during her procedures and she woke up violent, throwing punches and ripping out her IV. Her last 2 surgeries Chris and I asked them not to give her versed because it also made her sick to her stomach. I later spoke to her regular pediatrician and he said she is defiantly allergic to Versed and noted that in her charts. So at least we know that now.

I will send another email out once we get the results. Let me know if you have any questions. By the way, our little angel is back to her normal self. She was a little ornery all day yesterday, but today she is back to herself!!! YEAH!!!!!

Love, Shawna

Don't be Scared

All this 'pandemic' talk is way over the top. I remember the last time back in the 1970's, when the scare was another swine flu. One, ONE person died from it. The sun was climbing up the other side of the Gila Mountains as dog and I walked around the desert. We came home and I eat my cereal and made a cake. Tequila cake with a glaze of brown sugar and tequila and grand marnier. Sure smells good, but I'm waiting for later.
Then I went to work on Rob's car. Not new, but 99 Honda Accord, I changed the spark plugs, easy as 1,2,3,4... then I attacked the cabin air filter, well that was a challenge. But I managed to get it done and I'll tell you, it has never been changed before. Then came.... the dog groomer. Right to our house. And Guinness was none to impressed. But he sure does look cute now. Not that he didn't look cute before. He is not a good patron.

Last but not least, no pun intended, what is up with Burger King and those sponge bob adds? It's true, the liberals are in charge and I can not lie. Well, I got picked. So far any how, they aren't done asking questions. I figure tomorrow will get that finished. Then we will see.

After that I met Jessie and we went to the Tea Party by the Ocean to Ocean Bridge along the Colorado River. They figured perhaps a couple hundred people would show for the event. Looking around the area it was more like 2,500. We didn't stay for the entire thing as Guinness was home alone and he hates that. It was nice to see that people are fed up with that club in Congress. They had Fox News on the tv in the jury room, so we all got to follow it around the land today. Funny don't you think that the LA Times called anyone going to a tea party an idiot. Not surprise, them being a progressive paper and all. CNN berated someone on air, Keith Olberman of MSNBS did much the same. Once someone starts calling you names, you have won the arguement. That is all I have to say on that.

Most importantly, on my drive home tonight, my son Mark called me and said he will be a father for the first time. Hahahaha, this will be an eye opener! I hope they are ready. My father was very happy about the news. He is going to be 81 this year on Christmas, the baby is due December 19. I hope they get to meet.

Night Out

Yesterday was a quite day, but that was because we had tickets for a concert last night. It has been a long while since we had a night out on the town. A new casino open this month in Winterhaven which is on the way to Mexico. We had not gone there before this because every single snow bird did. We went a little early to check out the place and Jessie loves to play the slots. No me though, poker is my game. I never have any luck on those machines. Well, having said that, I had two $5's, and 3 $10's in the wallet, I got a players card and they game you $5 for signing up. I put it in the machine, lo and behold, $554 within 10 spins. I took the winning ticket and cashed it in. I gave 20 to Jessie, and I put 20 back into another machine, lo and behold, $155. Cashed that in too, bought a fork, and I was done. We went to dinner on that note. Then we waited to get in to a Dwight Yokem concert. Good old hillbilly style muzack. Louder than I could take. Our ears and eye rang long into our sleep. RIIIIIng, 4:30 a.m. the alarm is going, snooze or you looze. Twice more, then up because Jessie had to work today, bummed about that.

On a side note, our neighbor told me he was selling his Honda Accord, and it is in great shape. I phoned Rob and talked to Jessie, and we did it. Rob now owns a 1999 Accord. We will keep it here until he can get it. Needless to say, he is stoked!

Monday April 6, 2009

Today Jessie and I drove Rob to San Diego Airport. He is heading for Ft. Riley Kansas. We don't know how long he will remain there, because the chances are good that he will get deployed to Afghanistan. Needless to say, it was a hard good bye. We don't know what will happen, but we hope and pray. We don't talk about what might be, it would do no good. But I could see in Jessie's eyes the fear for her youngest son. We waited in the terminal and said good bye. Hard for us to leave there. Rob looked back twice, I remember that vividly. I saw some longing in that look. Not knowing what he was going into, I'm sure he is afraid. A new fort, knowing no one, wanting to do good. 20 years old! Where were you then? What was your biggest concern? Would I be alive by the end of the year? These days will be long.....

Back from Korea

Jessie's youngest son Rob has left his duty station in Korea and is now home here with us for a few day. Needless to say we are very happy to have some time with him before he reports to his new post at Fort Riley, Kansas. Fort Riley is the home of the First Infantry Division, also known as "The Big Red One." Rob volunteered for this assignment knowing full well he will get deployed to Afghanistan. April 1st he will receive his promotion to Specialist which he received for winning the Company challenge over all his and the other companies at his post in Korea. Most soldiers don't get this promotion this fast.
Well Rob's friend RJ is here for 5 days and on Saturday about 5 more are coming and the neighbors too as we are doing a BBQ. Should be fun times. Tomorrow we will either fish on the River, or go to the range and shoot some boxes dead. Neither Rob nor RJ have fired a pistol before. Should be fun!
I've got some red sauce cookin' for dinner tonight and had better get to it.

We Did It

This morning at 10:00 a.m. I paid in full the last SallieMae student loan on my daughter. Only took 8 years and it's done early. I am now happy to say that we are Debt Free! Well except for the house, and with any luck it will be paid off early too. It is sure a good feeling to be rid of that financial cancer. There are better ways to finance our children's education and young parents need to know that information before it's too late. The birds are singing outside the window as they wait for the sun to rise over the the Gila mountains. I will get hot today though the moon is shrouded by a thin sheet of cloud. So, those butterflies will be on their way north again and the birds will feast. Guinness and I will leave soon to great the sun as it climbs into the desert sky. With luck we will meet up with Mike and his dog Gracie and she and Guinness will have a play time running and chasing each other. We will get home and fix a breakfast, then I'll be off on my bike ride. Not too far yet as the traffic is just thinning as snowbirds find 90 to much to take. Brian said he broke a sweat yesterday just opening a beer. The golf greens are drying out and they say they can't play like that. "Hard as asphalt" is what he called them. And it is true.
Still it's spring today and I'm glad to be able to enjoy it again. I enjoy every day now more than I use to. It's from getting old I guess. I know my days are numbered and they are running out. We all need to make sure we enjoy each day we get here as we never know which one will be our last.

Another Tree

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jixIvHEAS4I/ScLh0KkMp3I/AAAAAAAAAAs/TvIJgvgqCwY/s320/desert+springtime.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315058796556232562" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jixIvHEAS4I/ScLAN1Yf7xI/AAAAAAAAAAU/vBLzQ83MToM/s320/Cars+and+Cactus+017.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315021854151274258" />
The back yard is still a work in progress. We bought a Texas Laurel tree the other day. I saw one in full bloom and liked it. I drove Jessie to see it well, we found one. Now having said that, it was 90 and I was digging a hole. Yeah, it sure was hot. Jess stopped me and I finished it after the sun had crawled below the horizon. Jess has been on a real planting gig and the place is looking very bright and full of color. The lime tree is covered in blossoms and you can see tiny little green bubbles coming to life. These are Mexican Limes and shouldn't be too big, bottle size you might say. I have a couple of limes in the fridge that I'm going to hang in the tree later because Jessie checks the limes every night when she gets home. Should be funny!
This morning at 6;30 she called me from work and said she forgot her key to her desk. Soooo, off to town I drove. The poor dog didn't know what was up. And it was a rush to get him to the desert for his morning pooh when I got home. After that, I made him and I some breakfast and then I was off to the grocery store. Not too much, bread, eggs, you know. After that was the big bike ride. Beautiful day for a ride. Most days are here. The butterflies are migrating north and as I road I was surrounded by hundreds of them. Much better than the bee swarms we saw last weekend. The desert has bloomed big time this year with the nice winter rain we got. We took some pictures of some ocotilla the other day.

Spring in the Air

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jixIvHEAS4I/ScLg4j2aUxI/AAAAAAAAAAk/fVihu-sQKN4/s400/Cars+and+Cactus+004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315057772551361298" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jixIvHEAS4I/ScLA9IAbOWI/AAAAAAAAAAc/Gao5Ubm1NIw/s400/Cars+and+Cactus+001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315022666604427618" />
Saturday, Jessie has that day off, we went to the Ray Kroc sports center here in Yuma for our first time visit to Midnight at the Oasis. That is what they call the annual old custom car show. Four baseball fields full of restored classics. The even had a 1969 Camero at raffle. Yes we bought a ticket and WE WON! Not really, but I did that to Jessie too and she was excited ...for a minute. It was a beautiful day and a lot of walking. We didn't spend too much time there, but it's only $3 per to get in. Not a bad deal at all. I'm going to post some photos I took there on myspace as soon as I get the camera from Jessie's purse.

I had to order some replacement parts for my old Marlin Model 60 .22 semi-auto long rifle. I think Mark loved that weapon, as I remember him not giving it up on a desert trip we hand back when we lived in Blythe. I took it apart to clean it the other day and well, it needs parts now. Got a new scope on it and zeroed it in, still shoots well.

Saturday Morning Confusion

We slept in today, well 6:30 is sleeping in for me and Jessie. I managed to let her stay in bed until 7 and it was well earned. Beautiful mornings right now, we had an early gathering at the back fence as our neighbor was draining his pond. Yes pond, with fish and all. Our dogs really like to play together.
Off I went to Checker Auto parts and bought a can of keep cool for the car A/C. Why? Well it's getting near that time here. It's easy to do and doesn't cost much. So if you haven't checked your A/C, now is the time. You should run the a/c in winter even though you don't use it. Trust me, you really should.
We are going off to Rose and Mikes at 3 today, so I have to set the DVR as Russ is going to speak at the CPAC. When will those morons get their heads straight and get back to fiscal conservatism? Or am I one of the few left in this world? For the life of me, I can not figure how POTUS and Congress think that spending on credit is good? It sure isn't good in my life, nor in yours. That is a fact and can't be argued. Spending what you don't have is how we got into this mess. It wasn't good whe Bush did, when Congress does it it is even worse.

Okay, okay.... I have got to stop! It only makes me crazy! Oh, that tax credit POTUS is giving, is income and you will have to pay for it. LOL who need that kind of help. Oh right, those that don't work and draw money for not working. There I go again, sorry.

Going to go for a walk with Guinness and rest the mind. I hope you all have a wonderful afternoon.

Well It's Spring Here

Guinness and I took our morning trip to the desert, yes there is a difference between there and here. How? Well, shade for one! Anyway, it's blooming out there like crazy. Thus, I find myself welling up and sneezing soon after I get there and the eyes are blurry from pollen. But, he gets to poop and I don't have to pick it up so I don't mind. We met Mike and his boxer Gracie, and he and I talk over yesterdays events, both local and world wide. Sometimes we even find ways to fix this mess politicians have gotten us into.
If you have ever had allergies and wish there was something to do about it besides drugs, I found something that helps me. Nasal Rinse! Yup, I thought it was gross at first, but I sure feel better after I've used it. So, if you find yourself sneezing and congested, go to the Walgreen's and look for a nasal rinse. They don't cost much and it is easy to do. I'm going to do mine right now!

IT'S FRIDAY, EVEN BETTER!

Ribs and Sky

Last night was a bust again, clouds moved in and stayed until this morning. Right now it's looking good so the telescope is ready and so am I. It's in the 80's today so this should be a nice night to sit out and look at the sky.

Jessie and I bought ribs yesterday and they are nearly ready now. Mesquite smoked and we made a sauce from scratch. It is going to be messy and finger lickin' good. Jessie is making a pasta salad now to go with it. Sam Adams is cold, cold, cold. Yes rock, VLM very low maintenance. And long lasting to boot. Cleaning the truck is not so easy as I thought it might be. But with the overcast ski, I gave her a wash on Sunday. Today was wax day, so I got that done while listening to Rush on the garage radio. I must say he doesn't make me feel good. So much going on in the country and I don't think much of it is good.
The Oscars on last night, no I couldn't watch it. We watched the race and went to bed. 4:30 a.m. is so early. Even the dog doesn't get up that early, he sleeps in until 6. Then we went for a walk in the desert and met up with Mike and his dog Gracie. She and Guinness had a good run. Mike and I solved many world problems in our minds. So much for that, it never helps.

Cloudy again this morning and I still can't get a look at Lulin C2007, that is a 'green' comet close to Saturn now and making it's closest pass (.41 AU). I'm hoping to get some ski tomorrow morning though Jessie is off work, I expect I'll be awake early. I'll let you know what happens.

Some Thoughts

Our President is going to send about 20,000 more troops to Afghanistan soon. Did you know that? Did you read about it in a newspaper? Chances are you didn't, and you know why? Because newspapers are liberal. Had G.W. Bush done this, it would be front page and progressives everywhere would be yelling and calling him war monger. No one in Hollywood is upset by this, they won't talk about it at the Oscars. The President is also going to be cutting the military budget soon. I sure hope he isn't planning to "tax" bullets for them is he plans to do to us. But let's face it, the President really is not interested in the military and what happens to our men and women over there. Why you ask, because they can't do anything to help him look good!
Rob is due to come home from South Korea on March 24th. He will report to Fort Riley, Kansas on April 6th. He wanted to be part of the 1st Infantry, you may know it as "The Big Red 1". He has been told that his chances of going to Afghanistan are very high. We are proud of Rob! He volunteered to go.

Poor Dog

Today was different, I started by having to get a battery for the car. Yes it finally died after six years. Six years I'm had that car, yes it is paid and still in good condition. I don't like having car debt at all. If you have car debt, you most likely have too much car. And if you live in California, you are going to really hate having more than one vehicle as your costs will double soon to register them. I hear that one State is charging drivers tax for every 1/4 mile they drive. Bet you can't wait for Arnold to hear about that one. I'm going to see if Arizona will ask California for the money I owe. California won't give me what they owe me, so I figure it's only fair!
Now, Guinness went to the doctor today to see what is up with his eye. It seems that he and the groomer didn't get along so well and he now has a deep cut on the cornea. That coupled with his allergies it wasn't a fun trip for him and Jessie. But, on the ride home, he had a seizure. First his front leg rose up then his back leg and his head went back and his tongue lay out of his mouth and he started foaming at the mouth. Needless to say Jessie freaked! She drove right back to the Vet and with tears raining down, she explained what happened. Every Labor Day weekend they put on a festival of chiles. My loving wife loves chiles, as anyone that has seen our place knows. Well this year we are hoping to make it to the festival.
Back a few years ago when my children where still living at home, me and some friends would have pounds of these chiles shipped to our home and we would roast them on the BBQ and freeze them. They are just unbelievablely tasty. Big green meaty chiles that go with almost any meal. Well at least I always thought so. Big Jims are mild and wonderful stuffed with cheese and things. Sandias are nice at a medium degree of heat. Purfect for a burger or if you are still young enough to with stand the extreme heat, there are Barker chiles. I bet Christopher remembers them and would love to have some in the freezer again.

I'm hoping to bring enough back to last me the year. Vacuum sealed and frozen.

The Stimulus Tragedy

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123396623933859023.html

This is an article by "The Wall Street Journal", and it addresses why they believe Mr. Obama is wrong with his premise that we can "spend our way to prosperity." I don't even understand what that four letter word really means, but that is okay. Chances are I won't be able to change it.
Jessie and I went fishing today just to "get out of the house", that means not to the store or work.
Speaking of work, the back yard is coming along nicely. I love the fact that I don't even need to own a lawn mower. It hard work but I'm feeling good and getting tanned in the process. Tomorrow it is forecast to rain. Always welcome because we get so little of the sky juice. Brian and Terri are coming over later and we are bbq'ing carne asada from Le Roy's. Chris you would just love this stuff. Oh, and not to forget some pollo asada too. Beer and Margarita at the ready. It should be a beautiful evening.
